1. God spread for me the carpet of existence
And upon it I sat at the time of witnessing

2. While the ignorant sat on the ground in ignorance
Denying me and my existence

3. This is a state that transcends the intellect
None can attain it but the ecstatic wanderer

4. I am like you and we are the same
Creatures of the Lord of abundant grace and existence

5. Except that I departed from you to Him
And found guidance to the Worshipped One

6. While you remained attached to what you knew
With a rope that is outstretched

7. O my dear people, I wanted what you wanted
And to your valley, my valley flows

8. Except that I knew Him and you were ignorant
So mend your state, behold my goal

9. And leave the selves that veiled you
From all else and from Him through limits

10. You confined Him while professing
He transcends all confinement

11. Every limit is an attribute that does not endure
Rather it is like flashes of lightning

12. God spoke the truth - none can guide those who stray
Other than Him - so submit to the Loving Lord

13. Do you think by bowing down to Him you will ascend
Or by prostrating in submission?

14. He is the Truth, though you thought it so, but
If that were so, it would not be through you, O soldiers

15. Follow me in what I say, for I
Am your rope to Him that leads to the sanctuary
