1. A being appeared in the perfection of her beauty
Hidden from all but herself

2. And a life we boast of through her beauty
She whose love filled existence

3. I became enamored with her who created her
She is an essence whose face shines in the presence

4. Of lovers enraptured by her with a glance
Al-Hajj said I must get away

5. For she has appeared to me in the best form
In it and existence was none but her

6. I have not ceased boasting among creatures about her
And extending my hand to draw nearer to her

7. And I say in my drunkenness on the wine of her love
Of the most wondrous things is the erasure of her lover

8. In witnessing her throne and her pillars
My being which is something new in existence

9. How she has enchanted many a lover while she is happy
I am indeed slight vestiges attributed to her

10. She was gently absolved of metaphor, for she is unique
In what she has majestically revealed to us and its meaning

11. Oh, that natural, simple love
Learned yet hidden in secrecy

12. It made us mourn for we did not see it except through yearning
Despite her being in a corporeal form

13. And disdaining to be likened to any who expressed her
We, mere forms, glimmer in her mirror

14. While she is existence for us in the perfection of her attributes
Oh woe, oh woe from her blows

15. She veiled with her form the reality of her essence
So her annihilation in her forms is her existence
