1. Some are led by fate
To glory, though they did not choose this state

2. Oblivious, though happiness embraced them
They remain desolate and apart

3. They deliberately do wrong, yet find
It turns to good, their poverty to gold refined

4. Whenever they commit sins, repentance comes
With pardon, cleansing them from stain

5. If their gaze should slip, the Lord will guard
And veil their shame behind His standard

6. With God they ever rise more high
To where Light's banners fill the sky

7. A youth who worshipped until he was bored
Sick of the rituals, though once adored

8. Seeking through thought and remembrance to draw near
Yet from it aloof, distant, and austere

9. Does good but gets only evil back
Seeking paradise but finding Hell's rack

10. Wisdom confused, lost in empty spaces
Truly bewildered in all cases

11. Gifts from the Omnipotent indicate
He is the Chooser, the Arbitrator
