1. God has set in motion and brought stillness to the universe
Tell me, what can the foolish people do?

2. All our deeds are no doubt temporal
Be alert - who but the Merciful has power to create?

3. Fire only burns at His command
A blind flame cannot cut the cold steel

4. These are but ordered causes
My perplexed mind struggles to determine their Doer

5. Oh sleepless one, dawn of deliverance has come
No time will return once it has gone

6. Weeping, you remained hidden - unable to see yourself
Come out from all - proofs will come to you

7. Dissolve yourself gradually into existence and melt
Until you attain a station of stability

8. For all are Him - so listen, though He is other than them
As glass takes on color from the sun

9. And strive after the commands and prohibitions
Which are the fruits of creation, O water and clay

10. God has a hidden secret which none can attain
But the discerning, who in us are faithful to Him
