1. Whether wearing shirt or cloak
Of everything he is obscure

2. Bright house rising
We are the clouds, to him belong

3. Noble spirit we all are
His image veiled

4. And God is hidden from him not
He knows it not for he refused

5. The sun is the light of his face
And the enlightened ones belong to him

6. He hides so we appear then if
He appears we vanish, how wondrous

7. The wilderness has become confused about him
And hands of passion dispersed

8. If I become absent from him then I
Am of the lineage of the prophets

9. And if I trace my matter to him
I have no mother or father

10. And he is everything so if
Everything becomes veiled from us
