1. The morning sun began to shine
Upon a heart that's full of pain

2. How splendid and serene it is
With unparalleled beauty and grace

3. My friends, you share my ailment and strife
In the far wilderness, behold I see life

4. With my flag I point to the letter 'Baa'
Where in my waters, a sign that my hand conveys

5. The lights have appeared, the secrets are clear
The phases have increased, the birds sing and cheer

6. So extinguish, O fire!
The beloved has come near

7. O oblivious one, your waning moon is here
If only you know of my chaste passion

8. My full moon has risen in my chest
So my matter is hidden amongst my companions

9. Of beautiful face, who has arrived
And made everything else cease to be

10. After estrangement, affection and harmony
He weighed beauty with benevolence and care

11. His light erased the tablets I bear
So partake of my respite, O companion!

12. Do not be a companion, and leave behind sorrow
Among specters, without souls

13. Then may Allah bless the noble Prophet
Of great glory, through whom we were guided

14. A servant whom He enriched
One passionately in love

15. Along with his blessed Household
The masters of sublime deeds

16. And his valiant Companions - may he who severed ties with them be severed
For they cure all harm

17. Like bitter medicine
And strings of pearls
