I yearn, abundant in longing.

4. Those whom I met did not keep our promised time -
My heart is obsessed with the people of meaning.

5. Reveal with the light of truth the veils of illusion -
Open the locks and unfold the pages.

6. O generous one, and listen to the song of the lover -
For the union is close and the night serene.

7. Clarify this goblet in the wings of night -
My wine is smooth, exceeding radiance.

8. My heart, seized by yearning for that caller -
Suffers the tumultuous sea of love.

9. My eye, which beheld the face of the beloved -
Unveiled, effulgent in light.

10. It renders secrets to others -
From the intensity of favor, the day we met.

11. When the heart was revealed this wondrous knowledge -
The phases increased and thoughts burned,

12. For the birds of strangers flew from us -
With the heart rising to the apex of peace.

13. Then prayer and peace from the near one -
The chosen guide, exalted in rank.

14. Whom the trees called when he walked by them -
The protector, with his abundant grace.

15. How excellent from the servant of the bountiful breast -
In composing poetry, with fragrant praise.

16. The spheres revolved at the hour of dawn -
And the cupbearer was sweet with melodies.
