1. Faith is but a light
In the hearts of believers

And steadfast submission

3. To God's book and the Sunnah
From Taha the Trustworthy

4. Needing neither intellect
Nor understanding made clear

5. Nor proof nor anything
Outside itself made certain

6. It is light, it is light
Gleaming in the hidden

7. It is God's secret within us
And the path of the righteous

8. It is light and so too
All things are by light made clear

9. By it, not else,
Was the path of the devout

10. They knew God and tasted
His attributes at all times

11. Unveiled everything
In this world and religion

12. The garb of faith did wear
That impregnable stronghold
