1. My drinking of the drink of love's distress
From cups of beauty from the ancient days

2. Is utter nonexistence with the light of being
In darkness, on the straight and narrow way

3. So gentleness in blaming me, my friends
And tenderness to my deficient blame

4. God knows me well, though I am nothingness
Now I'm a vessel of the Knowing's claim

5. At times Reality unveils my eye
To see His face in endless blessings dight

6. At times He hides from my sight in the density
Of things, then I'm a breeze in the night

7. I see myself, from Him created, speak
Of the soft blowing wind midst part and whole

8. Of witnessing and of beliefs that seek
Like a necklace to take order and extol

9. This state is mine, this station too I claim
In goodness ever stably to remain

10. So shun or leave me be, don't trifle with
What's free from the Generosity's domain

11. Or by inspiration know me, with belief
To gain what every wise soul worked to obtain
