1. In neglecting the letter Dāl is a practice
That begins with the truth made clearly manifest

2. And upon it are signs from every direction
That point to piety and the ways of right guidance

3. Truthful is He who in His attribute is a deceiver
Matching His will in creed and in rejection

4. Verily essences are the mind's conjectures
In describing their Creator, like echoes' reflection

5. And letters originate in nature's deviance
From the norms of its rectitude, so it bears witness against it

6. The path was folded over the breadth of its directions
So look to its absolute, you will find it restricted

7. O Manifest in all that is manifest
O Hidden to whom my inner self I sacrifice

8. And the secret on the Day of Standing will be their saying
"Myself" and Your saying "My nation," with purpose intended

9. This is the clear light for one who knows
And for one ignorant a new sea in Your law immersed
