1. Love's lineage is the noblest lineage,
Free from motives and causes.

2. And when love is tainted with parity,
It veils you from yourself like all veils.

3. O you non-existence which is apparent,
With the existence of an absent unseen in the unseen.

4. Purify your love which is in you from
The claim of existence, so you may win in opening the door.

5. Do not claim what was not yours, or you will be disgraced
On the day of meeting in the presence of loved ones.

6. Alas! Where is the first people's love?
They drank the cup and the wine of cups.

7. And they clung to the unseen, not disturbed
By it, so they have the most honorable chambers.

8. Indeed, if love attains purity, therein lies
A hidden most delightful drink.

9. With it souls - hearts - tossed and turned
From its sobriety to annihilation, like the revolving wheel.

10. Salman from the family of the Prophet thereby,
Salman from us spoke truthfully of it.

11. So ascertain through its pure drink without
Adulteration - its mirage returns like a mirage.

12. Truly we say, it is love - do not be
Stripped of etiquette in it.

13. And wear for it the garb of piety and beware of being
Like women veiled in veils.

14. You spend the night and morn as you, and see
Naught but inert standing still and the hesitation of the skeptic.

15. God is great! We are our Beloved
In the state of the substitutes and the poles.

16. We ascend and descend in His Names' hands
From nearness of bliss and distance of torment.

17. Nations went astray with Him, for they knew nothing but
His nonexistent garments without garments.

18. And He encompasses them though they know not.
They are in His hands, changing colors.

19. Where are incarnations and all things perish?
The text of Hadith and text of every book.

20. But the minds of the ignorant lead them astray
And they deny with the utmost denial.

21. And God knows all that is there, all of it,
So verify Him, O people of intellect!
