1. The beauty within us has appeared, so rejoice!
And the secret keeper has been unveiled, so rejoice!

2. Everything is an outpouring of my heart's desire,
Speaking of that which dispels all doubt.

3. So listen, O hearts, to the tidings of Layla,
Of the sciences of the unseen that know no end.

4. A wine that deceived the eyes of people,
Making them think it was in cups when they met it.

5. Had it not been for its cups it would not have appeared,
Nor would its cups have appeared had it not been for it.

6. A being whose face, wherever it may turn,
I see it or choose to say I see it.

7. It is a beautiful face, as said in the tradition,
And God loves beauty.

8. It is all beauty, all loving,
Showing you the like and similar.

9. I pass away in it, and every lover
Reaches the end in it.

10. How sweet is passing away in an eternal rising!
All who desired it but did not die, lost their way.

11. Do not think passing away in it is other than what you are in it
When you are fully present and aware.

12. Certitude misguided a people,
Those deluded by wealth and status.

13. They took it for the eye of certitude, like a blind man
Who thought understanding was sight, so he boasted.

14. Sometimes their knowledge leads them
To the tribulation of unbelief, so beware its beginning.

15. The knowledge of Iblis was knowledge of certitude,
But the eye of certitude concealed its evil.

16. Had he seen the Truth he would not have refused
To bow down. His knowledge prevented its meaning.

17. Then what use is your knowledge without your eye,
O you who strayed through the dignity of knowledge!

18. Above what you are in is the rank of unveiling,
Other than the unveiling of imagination that reveals its extent.

19. So you see in it all that was knowledge to you,
So seek its sun and its morning light!

20. Then above that is a rank of Truth,
Which is granting to each soul its guidance.

21. Our Lord is the Lord therein, and the servant a servant,
Then along with that, a oneness with nothing else.
