1. The clanging of bodies is no idle talk
Let the perceptive grasp my words

2. Thus has God commanded, understand
A permission granted with benefit in mind

3. Note after note, one after the other
Forms unfold upon the ears

4. The heedless perceives the phenomena
While the wise endowed with breadth

5. Considers all with care
A span's length has meaning to him, and an arm's

6. Hearing all with a noble spirit
Not with the ear prone to conflict

7. With it the disciple ascends in knowledge
Above the pretensions of passion and nature's judgements

8. Such obedience to God has granted him
Perfection in following and excellent compliance

9. Tracing the way of sunnah and book
Acting like the predecessors, foremost in consensus

10. Such is our state and the state of shaykhs
Summoned by a caller though unseen
