1. For how long will you be in clear misguidance?
Submit to the truth and hold fast to certainty.

2. O child of two days, do not dispute,
You are like a lightning that flashes now and then.

3. Our Lord is Allah alone, He manifests
To us through blaming and praising.

4. He said "Be" to the creation, so they came to be,
This is a well-ordered determination.

5. With majesty He appears and disappears,
With beauty He emerged for explanation.

6. So every beautiful-eyed one appeared enamored,
Manifesting with the face of a houri's eye.

7. If He inclines a fresh, moist branch,
Grasping every affection with the right hand.

8. He is undoubtedly describing immortal youths,
Veiled by majesty from every eye.

9. The earthly abode and abode of eternal paradise
Are one to a humble knower.

10. And to the ignorant it is a scorching fire,
He will know that without a protector.

11. So uncover, O hearts, whom you have seen
Outwardly existing, for religion is my religion.

12. Your souls have veiled you, so you are ignorant
That He is the light, the clear light of truth.

13. And desires have distracted you from guidance,
Of the lawful and the despised forbidden.

14. Your passions are the passions of the ignorant,
Not composed with consideration of what is hidden.

15. My Lord's covenant - have you not openly betrayed,
Not following the path of trustworthy Taha.

16. The book of the righteous is most high,
While the book of the wicked is imprisoned.

17. They made their livelihood by the destitute when they
Denied the strong, steadfast religion.
