The one in whose hands lies the reins of benefit and harm

2. And incline to His grace and incline yourself away
From all others, and extend to Him the palm of one in need

3. And say: "O Gentle One in dealing with me always
Be for me and never leave me to mankind"

4. For I have nothing but my poverty, O Wealthy One, and no
Means but the one sent from Mudar

5. The best of creation, whether nomad or settled
And the noblest of people, whether Bedouin or city dweller
