1. That separation, though it deafened my hearing,
Did not fail my hopes for this meeting.

2. So my thirst did not fully reach me,
Until the one I love brought back my streets.

3. I would not have remained after being far, had I not
Parted from my loved ones intending to return.

4. If I was absent from the abode of my worries in its expanse,
Then to me belong those who were raised in it and its plains.

5. What is the matter that I expected meeting
In its endpoint, yet it was nearer occurring.

6. The matter is this, that I fear with it
That the pigeons are cutting off from them.

7. I had been absent yet in my conscience a return,
And I came back with yearnings, an ascending return.

8. And now how could my state be if I come
To my house and went to a vast place.

9. Would I want to remain despite the distance?
Never! I have no greed for remaining.

10. O neighbor, they went far, so talk in the truthful
And supreme places.

11. If this soil did not contain you, it would not have become
Pure, made permitted for prayers for bowing.

12. A ray of daylight, illumination from your light,
And by you every flashing lightning shone.

13. And let the one traveling be guided by the light of your brilliance,
As you rose over the full moon in the sky.

14. So water the honor that was ennobled by you,
Whatever it wished from the pouring tears.

15. Until it flows like the serpent, the plateau of honor,
And overflows between the sand dunes and small dunes.

16. O my masters, I swear by the days
That have passed with you and obediently returned to it.

17. If I did not busy my inner self with meeting you,
My heart would not have settled between my ribs.

18. Leave my heart in the honorable abode and my sight
Like a lover, mentioning you with my farewell.

19. They said, "Depart," And my eyes never had their fill of meeting
Nor filled with anything but tears.

20. So I was certain in my soul that their dwelling
Is more difficult to reach if the guide spoke truthfully.

21. And I stood between contemplation and fidgeting,
Happiness appears in my sad heart.

22. When I do not know whether the proximity of comfort
Makes me shed tears or the separation between us.

23. I send greetings like a newcomer and imagine
The nearing departure with opponents bidding me farewell.

24. O my tears, stop crying so my vision may clear
To see the brilliance of this shining light.

25. For the sublime room has melted for us
In fear over the sights beneath the veils.

26. So enjoy and you have safety from blindness
With those you lined your eyes with their consecutive light.

27. For God's sake O guide of the riding camels, stop
In the resting place even if sleepy and dormant.

28. To send my passions and write my tale
Regretfully with the ink of tears from my eyelids flowing.

29. And perhaps I stand at the door of Ahmed's chamber
Before bidding farewell, standing like a humble slave.

30. In the position Gabriel stood, questioning
Him the Messenger, teaching the listener.

31. Where the honorable angels surround
That position - bowing down and kneeling.

32. And I say, O best of creation, the pigeons call
And without attaining your approval I am not content.

33. I am your sinful slave who did not fear
His great sin while the King intercessor was generous.

34. You are Most Generous, and the effort of one who falls short
Is not lost with the Most Generous.

35. The noble Arabs do not ask their guest
About what sins he committed even if grave.

36. I emigrated to you with my innermost being
Yearning and loving you was most of my merchandise.

37. So fill my saddlebags with bounty, I will not
Turn needing no giver or preventer.

38. If you do not lift the severity of my poverty
To God, then who can lift me.

39. I came to your door when my own generosity constricted me,
My tools failed and the means to sin were cut off.

40. Can it narrow because of my sin even if the horizon
Is too narrow for it, protector of this vast generosity.

41. My master and my connection, I am afraid
Of the horror of a day that has no defender.

42. If you do not help me with intercession tomorrow
I meet it with misery, having no defense.

43. My Master, equip me for I am leaving
Due to an obligation that took the place of preventers.

44. My journey is far and sins great,
And bringing your approval is not useful to one who falls short.

45. Even though I hope to return and not being able
Is not too difficult on the aspirations of the collector.

46. O most generous of the generous, here I stand
With hopeful serenity and pleading fear.

47. I hope and fear without that I trust
In the bounty of your hands, certain return, definite.

48. So favor me with another visit, hopefully
I will strive toward you ahead of all others.

49. May God send blessings upon you whenever the breeze blew
And the branches waived with the slumbering pigeons.

50. And restore these covenants to me over the honorable abode
Between the shrine and the platform of the intercessor.
