1. How long does he drag the tail of disobedience,
Did the warner of salvation come to him,

2. Or did he come but he continued to frolic in illusion,
Secured from the hunting downfall?

3. Do you see what he saw with his eyes how much,
The ruling of the doves descended from the one with beautiful voice.

4. Oblivious, exceeding in his sin continuously,
Each day and his lifetime is decreasing.

5. I wish I knew what deluded my son,
The horror of a day when the forelocks are seized.

6. Except that I think he is satisfied,
With his love and sincerity.

7. The savior of the believers on the Day of Resurrection, by Allah,
From the horror of the day of retribution.

8. And the protector of sinners from the hardship on the Day of Resurrection,
Out of kindness when in dire need.

9. The noblest of both worlds in lineage, and the best
Of creation out of kindness when in dire need.

10. Better than him is the carrier of burdens,
Of pleasant journey and cheek of youth.

11. To see a neighbor from Bilaqiyah rising,
Calling the flowers of dusk and conversing.

12. The seal of prophets, the first chosen by Allah,
Singled out by Him in purification.

13. The owner of miracles, the range of speech falls short,
Of telling them in detail.

14. God distinguished him with the Book to which,
The obedient and disobedient submitted forcibly.

15. He rendered speechless the people of both mankind and jinn,
So they acknowledged incapacity, not because of collusion.

16. They despaired and despair is a sign of the incapacity,
Of people to stubbornly oppose.

17. Like the chiefs of the idolaters, along with Shaybah,
Then Al-Waleed, then Al-'Aas.

18. And Abu Jahl the obstinate one and whoever
Died upon his blasphemy from the transgressors.

19. They knew when he recited it that it is not from before,
Mankind and they praised while demeaning themselves.

20. Every misguided one repels guidance with illusion,
Insisting on harm, keen and eager.

21. He left the light like daylight but still,
Seeks illumination from the crevices of dry wood.

22. O minds of cattle, you left the house so you failed,
For the skillful diver.

23. By my life, were it not for desires you would have found,
That ocean yet it is easy to dive in.

24. With lips under which are sweet meats,
That surpassed even those with gum.

25. Where are you in relation to the noblest of creation,
Of the highest horizons and most apparent forelocks?

26. His palm satisfied the two hundred,
From amongst the emigrants and helpers.

27. So after placing his right hand among them,
There were no people with concealed rancor.

28. Thus they sufficed, withdrew, and that was as it was,
Roasted meat that was not diminished by taking away.

29. And at Badr came to him an army from Allah,
Preceding, honorable warriors.

30. And he saw them from the enemies' perspective detested,
And the gloomy cloud of war did not disperse from him.

31. How many killed among them at the Battle of Badr
Did not attain the limit of spears that harvest lives.

32. They advanced like eagles, great in number, and returned
With captives like birds in cages.

33. And they came like abundant meteors when
Not even one survived the grasp of capture.

34. Blessings of God send peace upon him,
From the nearest and farthest horizons.

35. No breeze blew or lofty dunes shone,
With light in the adornments of thrones.
