1. O You to whom I plead for help through his mightiness,
And through my humility I beseech You and submit,

2. O Savior of the drowning and O You whose servant
Calls upon You in the darkness of adversities, so You hear,

3. O Reliever of sorrows, which if they overwhelm me,
I have none but You in them to seek refuge,

4. O Owner of hidden kindness, thus no one sees
Your ordainments, and the good in what You do,

5. O Remover of great sorrows and Raiser of misfortunes
With equanimity, they cannot be repelled,

6. O my help in my adversity, O my rescue
In my solitude, so I beseech none other,

7. O my Savior from the horror of what has befallen,
So I expect no generosity but Yours,

8. I have none but You, so You are the object of my desire
And my complaint, in what I fear and hope for,

9. Should I fear or hope for other than You, and there is not
In the universe a creature that harms and benefits?

10. You are The Rich and all in the universe are
Poor beggars hoping for Your generosity,

11. There is none but You, O Munificent, so enrich me
And suffice me, that I may not hope nor dread,

12. O You whom I beseech concerning harm that has touched me
Desperately, so You uncover what I complained of and lift,

13. O You whom I call upon for good, hopefully,
So I become certain of acceptance and desist,

14. You are the One whose door, if devices fail,
Is knocked on, however spacious they are,

15. You are the One whose protection, and none other’s,
Is a fortress, and all others are fragile,

16. You are the One who has no helper for me other than Him
If all enemies gather against me and converge,

17. O You whose favors, even if earth's inhabitants
In their conceit cut off, do not diminish,

18. O my comforter in my desolation, when comforters
Depart, and the earth's expanse becomes barren,

19. O my companion when I have no companion
To chat with, or confide in, so he may hurry,

20. While creation sleeps, save those at Your door,
I call upon You with the plea of a desperate man who has

21. None but You, for eternity to look to,
All means are severed except You, and it suffices that

22. No tie remains if not through You it is cut,
I place my forehead down in humility, for I have no

23. Head to raise, out of shame for disobedience,
Beseeching through the Chosen Guide, who

24. Will intercede for transgressors on Judgment Day,
The best of creation, most honorable messenger, by whose

25. Guidance the shackles of misguidance are removed,
The shade of God and secret of His mercy which

26. Is entrusted to intercession for humankind,
He who has no intercessor for sinners but his standing,

27. A refuge on Judgment Day from its terror,
Thus he is the hoped for intercessor, since none

28. Can intercede without his permission,
To him belong theMeans of Access and the Flag, and all

29. In the Gathering have come in fear but him,
The Basin from which he gives drink to whom he wills, and disgrace

30. Has reached those who will endure its bitterness,
And anguish has afflicted the people, and neither

31. Wealth nor children will benefit there,
And all creation, as disasters have peaked

32. And sorrows surround him, looking to him,
He will come and bow down and praise his Lord

33. With praise never heard before,
So it will be said: “Ask and you will be granted wishes and intercede so you may intercede

34. For humankind, and your standing will be made loftiest,”
So he will say: “My nation whom You guided

35. Through me, so they were guided,” it will be said: “They are for you in entirety,”
“My Creator, so for his right, be kind to me when

36. The prospects narrow for us and the outlook overwhelms,”
“And make him on Judgment Day an intercessor for me,

37. That he may secure for me a place in the Gardens,”
“Through him I hope for nearness to You and means to You,

38. And Your gift is greater than my sins and more encompassing,”
“Had I not trusted that sins are forgiven I would not have

39. Slept confusedly with them as my mattress,”
“Far be it from Your bounty, though I have relied on its rope,

40. That I fear sins and am anxious,”
“Admit me only to You, for there is none

41. In the world who, if he joins me, will maintain it,”
“And do not make causes other than You, for I

42. Fear none but You, O God, and am humble,”
“For sustenance is Your provision, and people intermediaries,

43. So why should I beseech among them?”
“I have resolved to hope for none but You as a bestower,

44. So let them enjoy their fortune, or deprive,”
“O Responder to the desperate, O Remover of harm,

45. Quencher of burning thirst, Healer of broken bones,”
“Do not abandon me to other than You, for I

46. Fear nothing with You as my helper,”
“I have made the place of my hopes and complaints

47. Among people who harm and benefit,”
“And cut off my hopes in them for His creation,

48. For all are like me, fearing and hoping,”
“To You, O Messenger of God, I have sent my need,

49. Which distracted me from You to attain it,”
“And here is my story, raised up, and my requests

50. For what I hope for from Your bounty, appended to it,”
“I seek intercession through the Prophet, the Chosen One,

51. For I have none but him as a refuge in adversities,”
“And who can I hope to attain my goals

52. And reach them but through him?”
“When I am deprived of the favor of his intercession,

53. For the intercession of the Messenger of God is higher and nobler,”
“I have none, when You have honored my face with his earth,

54. To replace it with humiliation or change,”
“As humiliation in hopes is for others, while I

55. Will not be humiliated for other than the Messenger,”
“Prophet of the world, my state has narrowed, while you

56. Are worthy of what I hope for from you,”
“So ask my Creator to relieve my worries, for He

57. Alone, not people, has power over my relief,”
