1. Our friends, where is that covenant now broken
And where is the era of days of union gone

2. And where is your oath by Allah that you
Would not mix displeasure with love and acceptance

3. Return, for your absence has made the gathering place lonely
And darker than it had been before

4. When you shot the arrows of separation out of boredom
You made every heart in passion a target

5. I complain to you of my illness from your separation
By Allah, neither essence nor honor remains

6. It is enough for me to die longing for you
With passion, and I do not expect any substitute for you
