Beneath my ribs by drawing her close

If not for the bitterness of parting resembling it

How many a dead by separation, their life

In an abode, with the fruits of autumn and blossoms

21. Of spring, from the breast of the clouds, a suckling
The soft breezes of its aroma turned sweet

22. Inclining, but with them it is no longer swift
Arabs whose leaves are non-Arabs recited

23. In their ears in metered poetry
They protect their night-talk with night-talk like her

24. Capacious for every silent and deaf one
The tears of lovers were mixed with their land

25. And the blood of foes, so the fever was quenched with bounty
By my father Badee‘ it pleased me from his predecessor

26. And the mouth with the adorning and arrangement
The lovers called you unresponsive

27. And summoned to the night-talk unhearing
How much support for tears I exhausted

28. By the protected fourth of your withheld defenders
I don’t know how you broke my heart while it
