1. My Master, we are five in your neighborhood
We took a house with no lamp in it
١. مَوْلَايَ إِنَّا في جِوَارِكَ خَمْسَةٌ
بِتْنَا بِبَيْتٍ ما بِهِ مِصْباحُ
2. No meat in it, or bread, or
Water, or anything we find comfort in
٢. مَا فِيهِ لا لَحْمٌ وَلا خُبْزٌ وَلَا
مَاءٌ وَلاَ شَيْءٌ لَهُ نَرْتَاحُ
3. You see each one with gloom and fatigue
So we are the five ghosts
٣. كُلٌّ تراهُ مِنَ الكآبةِ والطَّوَى
شَبَحاً فَنَحْنُ الخَمْسةُ الأَشْباحُ
4. We have nothing left but our tattered clothes
Which the winds playfully toss about
٤. مَا فَاتَنَا إِلَّا التَّجَلُّلَ بِالعَبا
فَجُسُومُنَا لَعِبَتْ بِهَا الأَرْيَاحُ
