1. With two eyes he once could see
But magic made him go back to one
١. كَانَ بِعَيْنَيْنِ فَلمَّا طَغَى
بِسِحْرِه رُدّ إِلَى عَيْنِ
2. Yet God shows kindness to lovers true
And never strikes with two swords in hand
٢. وَذاكَ مِنْ لُطْفٍ بِعُشَّاقِهِ
مَا يَضْرِبُ اللَّه بِسَيْفَينِ
