وَبِأَنْوَارِ وَجْهِكَ المَعْشُوقِ
2. With unmatched beauty and grace
And a waist like my stolen heart
٢. وبِمَعْنىً لِلحُسْنِ مُبْتَكَرٌ فِي
كَ وَخَصْرٍ كَقلْبِيَ المَسْرُوقِ
3. Join a lover through your eyes
And your stature, arrows and sweetness abound
٣. صِلْ مُحبّاً من ناظِرَيك وَمِنْ
قَدِّكَ يُرمى بِراشِقٍ وَرَشيقِ
4. Between a mole and kiss, fire and nectar are found
Hasten with a visit, promise, word or stop along the way
٤. وَمِنَ الخالِ والمُقبَّلِ مَا بَي
نَ حَريقٍ يُفْني وَبَيْنَ رَحِيقِ
5. Or send your greetings scented with air
Or else through fanciful imagination I make my way
٥. جُدْ بِوَصْلٍ أَو زَوْرَةٍ أَوْ بِوَعْدٍ
أَوْ كَلامٍ أَوْ وَقْفَةٍ في الطَّرِيقِ
6. I longed for you whenever lightning flashed
None can match my passion, this is true
٦. أَوْ بِإِرْسَالِكَ السَّلامَ مَعَ الرّي
حِ وَإِلّا فَبِالخيالِ الطّرُوقِ
7. Though our love may differ, sometimes we agree
O friend of carnelian, who do I have
٧. أَتمَنَّاكَ كُلَّما سَارَ بَرْقٌ
لَيْسَ مِثْلي وَجْداً على التَّحْقِيقِ
8. In our days in the valley of carnelian
Where the branch of union is lush, and the cheek of love radiant as the rising moon
٨. بَيْنَنا في الهَوَى اخْتِلَافٌ وَإِنْ كا
نَ اتفاقٌ فَرُبَّما في الخُفُوقِ
9. A beloved so gentle and kind
Fills each bough and twig with sap
٩. يا عُرَيْبَ العَقِيقِ مَنْ لي وَهَيْها
تَ بأَيّامِنا بوَادِي العَقيقِ
10. Fills my cup with old and new sweet wine
And when my tears rain as songs
١٠. حَيْثُ غُصْنُ الوِصالِ رَطْبٌ وَرَو
ضُ الحُبِّ زاهٍ وَبدْرُهُ في شُروقِ
11. I have not wept like this, pining with love
١١. وَحَبيبٌ قَدْ لانَ عِطْفاً وَعَطْفاً
فَهْوَ يُزْرِي بِكُلِّ غُصْنٍ وَرِيقِ
١٢. يَمْلَأُ الكَأْسَ لي بِمُزٍّ قَديمٍ
وَحَديثٍ حُلوٍ وَلَحْظٍ وَرِيقِ
١٣. وَإِذَا نَقَّطَت دُموعِي غِنىً
مَا عَهِدْنا كَذَا بُكَاءَ المَشُوقِ
