1. I sent my poetry to the reciter and it overwhelmed him
Due to the intensity of what I aim for and the abundance of what I mean

2. And he feared for the people the thunder as a warning
While it is but the cry of the free man in prison

3. Does my poetry neglect today those whose treasure it was
And deny me my opinion and deprive me of my art

4. And return my breath to me, even if it flowed
Through every fluttering, it would not relieve me

5. May he have seen something in the air, so he smashed what
I carried to him, and he knows it better than me

6. Rejoice at my secret, O time, and sympathize with it
So my secret is painful to me, and my clarity sings to me

7. The Almighty observatory came hiding its nets
Neither is it from humans nor is it from jinn

8. It will uncover what is in the briefcase after
The people spent a year accounting and speculating

9. And whatever came of the matter has passed like it
So I'm not afraid nor am I safe

10. And I have no yearning in the valley that furtively lures me
Nor a son in it, so I misery for my son's living

11. And I have nothing but this eloquence I master
And it is neither healing nor is it fulfilling

12. And it was nothing but the unity that protects a nation
That stands without an army and lives without a fortress
