1. O scholar of the age, congratulations without gloom
You have attained it from the greatest of the age

2. You were loyal to it with loyalty and faithfulness
Your rank and the good you both do are your reward

3. You have attained a position in an eminent position
And the hand of glory is in the hand of knowledge

4. Whenever an elite attained kindness from it
That kindness encompassed all the brethren

5. If I controlled matters, I would not mind except
Every pure conscience, sweet of tongue

6. I am one who knows the unseen and overlooks
Every valley and place I did not leave my position

7. Indeed, only its people recognize favor
And the eloquent revere the people of eloquence

8. My brother, your consent delighted me even if
I was indignant about the situation

9. And I felt relieved by your relief from prolong
ed worries in Egypt and Sudan

10. You are more deserving of the festival unless the
war between the Abyssinians and Italians

11. And that which I warned against yesterday comes
With the poisons of iron and fire

12. The earth and sky will tremble tomorrow from the
Fatalities of man against man

13. And demise is better for the defiant than living
In oppression and enduring humiliation
