As a guarantee from fate for the free country?

2. Why did they not accept the condition of any but you
When innocent reconciliation was offered without deceit?

3. Can you fulfill your promise,
When the people of Egypt are weary of all but you?

4. They used to release the prisoner, but now
They oblige him with ransom from captivity.

5. The tyrant ridicules us and casts some of us
Against others, and we give him arms without knowing.

6. One whose outward speech and essence are suspect
Is fought by one of us with hidden blame.

7. Can the living, strong man be buried in his home
When the dead buried has risen from the grave?

8. Can the strong have an excuse for all he ruled
While the weak seeking protection remains without excuse?

9. Does every week pass with a ministry
Followed by another that buys but does not sell?

10. If this continues, all the people will be made ministers
And the chief of the people will be one without precedence.

11. You want an extent other than what you suppose,
As recompense for afflictions and reward for patience.

12. Take the path of breaths before your road
To the valley’s freedom and the river’s freedom.

13. Before you is a month, either your resignation
Or steadfastness that repels harm with harm.

14. The minister of the people is one who stood for them
With their burdens, not seeking status and plenty.

15. The fire and steel were never stronger on the youth
Than the terrible memory in poetry.

16. Shall I witness the independence of Egypt and be healed
Of the sickness in the little left of my life?
