1. Greetings and peace to you, O happy one
And honor and respect, O noble one

2. You forgot with the gathering the intimacy of those returning to
The faithful of their homelands from the desolation of the valley

3. And the melodies grasped the soul in a body
Worn down by the splendor of lightning and thunder

4. The festival of the sorrowful one over a blood-stained world
If a grieving one was preoccupied with festivals

5. You reminded your people of Al-Farooq guiding them
While you are among them for reminding and guidance

6. You magnified him when he was ignorant in his pre-Islamic era
And a Muslim in the traits of the fading present

7. You described the biography of one whose gesture
Sufficed the caliphate instead of armies and leaders

8. And the executor of just rule from his insight
And his view before ratification and testimony

9. And the seeker of truth in deposition and appointment
Who protects him between approximation and distancing

10. And the wearer of the coarse worn-out garment over a body
Whose pillar is the weak and frail provision

11. He looks after even though he has nothing of his subjects
Except a reckoner, a counter, and critics

12. And he who passed away satisfied with himself certain
Of his Lord after issuance and income

13. And the owner of a kingdom with only one prolonged his debts
And did not prolong with groups and individuals

14. The best of kingdoms is that which is built on honor
And mercy not on injustice and hatred

15. And the best arbitrator is one who has in his hand
Returning the peoples as comrades not adversaries

16. Conquest by knowledge and cognizance not by blood
Flowing from inflamed livers and kidneys

17. And disseminate it among platforms and glories
Perhaps the gentle sweet talk will comfort hearts

18. Fed up with the talks of deserters and slanderers
God has exemplified God's kindness in eminent

19. Full moons and luminous stars
The seasons of poetry from their high morals

20. Like meadows, clouds, and passing winds
The people of Levant which I still recall

21. And in my affections an attachment to the returning one
Whether the Levant draws near to Egypt or distances

22. It is inhabited by a resort, an easy place to visit
Suffice with Mekal in his ethics a king

23. Walking in Egypt the gait of the noble one
He adds to the glories of fathers and ancestors

24. Every beauty from his achievements
He restores in the time of Sultan Ahmed what

25. Al-Rashid revived with the ethics of Baghdad
He gifted you something precious from his treasures

26. It is pottery for peers and equals
Awards which are the exoneration of poetry he attained

27. And how much it existed without misery and weariness
And he went on taking from their finest talents

28. Precious things of praises and recitals
I saw what stirred my poems so give me utterance

29. And my poems were hoped for at the appointment
That is some of what I conceal and hide

30. Indeed time lies in ambush for the likes of me
