1. O Hussain, take the emirate of poetry, for
The brethren and companions have come to pledge allegiance to you

2. And attain the cherished title except for you
So that your precious name settles with the title

3. You have gathered the best tribe in the best club
So in what you have gathered, you brought together East and West

4. Had they not chosen you, they would have disputed
Over the leadership like parties and fought

5. They hastened to you with their talents displayed
And if you had asked them for money, they would have subscribed

6. And held a lavish, grand conference
Magnificent, and you in it are the wondrous spectacle

7. In blessed Ramadan, you witness it in Yemen
And the words they have composed in it and educated

8. Nothing remains of the cause for the pretenders to
What they attempted, what they wanted, and what they assumed

9. And it was in what you assumed leadership over
What they indoctrinated and what desire falsely told them

10. O you who manages a sultanate and kingdom
Yet has no house or pillar in it

11. And whom followers and entourage revive
While statues and monuments may be erected for him

12.
You have granted each young man among them his position

13. I wish I were among those you appointed as delegate
And it suffices you today the House of Books as

14. The capital of your states and a hall as deserved
Who can I kiss your supreme threshold

15. Below your threshold are screens and veils
This is my share of anarchy I have attained

16. After others betrayed me elsewhere
My seriousness in words and deeds did not avail me
