3. Your first term passed, shrouded and obscure
Murky, yet you were the cause of the next, sure

4. In your second loyal term, wondrous as the first
Your deeds again bring marvel and are rehearsed

5. Authority's burden in straits and trials you bore
As you bore the hardship of wars and terror before

6. On the straight path you treaded and drew near
The distant, subdued the intractable and severe

7. You made each leader great amongst his band
Choosing as a loyal aide whom you understand

8. Acknowledging the merit of deeds past
And aiding the future, helper unsurpassed

9. Politics through the ages is but a craft
Where you are the adept, wise, deft and daft

10. Trusting Egypt's future as you trusted
Veterans' and youth's pledges, unabashed

11. The unseen to them was revealed it would seem
Fates uncovered, veils rent, or so they deem

12. Your justice needed no counsel or advice
Years and trials have taught them sacrifice

13. The light of guidance you keep bright
Expanding vistas of hope are in your sight

14. Once reunited, you unified their view
Kinship made them one, and devotion to you

15. Praised for good deeds, titles and ranks you drew
His tribute not mere words, but glory true

16. In one moment of a realm's condition you changed
What eras could not alter, so estranged

17. Your people still await the great works planned
Wonders intended, goals you have fanned

18. Provisions you apportioned, full and fair
Sweet their food and drink without compare

19. No goods but yours were traded there
No profit made but what you prepare

20. Value for value, price for price
The king's silver filled each device

21. Their purchases and sales of luxuries fine
Were but a taste of gifts divine

22. Souls more precious than their wares
Where you lead they go, no cares

23. Best commerce is an equitable way
No law or scripture can display

24. No want or thirst for God's abode
Provisions overflowed that road

25. You shielded them, undaunted still
Foes dismayed, fears you did quell

26. Each side takes pride in its assets tallied
The victor you backed, his ranks you rallied

27. If battle ceases for a span
Panic and noise erupt again

28. Your ally, the titan at your flank
No gain in trade, but power blank

29. Joined in war, your allies profit
Aggressors routed, no loot or forfeit

30. Should you give neighbors friendly accord
Turk, Persian, Afghan, Arab afford

31. Ties of trade preceded creed and clan
Now urgencies of faith lead the caravan

32. Citadels and armies or zodiac signs?
Heavenly bodies, shooting stars divine?

33. The East's refuge for all who implore
The West's barrier, giant gates secure

34. Back you pushed the spying patrols
As they crept to make their forceful goals

35. Your troops replaced their invading soldiers
With letters and speeches your realm smolders

36. Perhaps war's tumult and aid you barred
Though heralds of conflict called and jarred

37. Better the victor who shuns the fire
Than battle's gambler courting dire

38. Whose might seeks what is beyond his scope
Deceit and guile will only evoke hope

39. Ambition unfettered by wisdom is vain
Folly pursues it, vigour inane

40. Safety assured, what matters the realm?
Steel and flames are not your helm

41. One spared may regret other's demise
As the world burns, a living sacrifice

42. Egypt makes the greatest peace or war
As foes capitulate or take up arms for sure

43. After your struggle, duty's reward
Respite comes only after long trial endured

44. Safety secured is the noblest victory
Though the earth quakes and souls flee

45. Trusting in fate, your preparation shows
While the world's people waver and woes

46. If blood must spill in surging rivers
Honor and rights require such deliverance

47. I wish you long life, so my greetings suffice
Hopes draw near and years entice

48. I immortalize the deeds of men
As nights go by, dispassionate, nor partisan

49. With praise I fill the land, my pen their light
Though remote, in the countryside I write

50. Upright they walk, and my task defined
Is cloaks of eternity for mankind

51. Though forgotten, no mention or heir
I live an exile in my own land there

52. No personal vengeance stirs my blood
But for my country outrage floods

53. No people I approached to justify
Or resented their rebuke, should they decry
