1. The rule has come to you, and your ministry has surpassed
The parties and sects in guidance

2. You called them, and they responded and met and went forth,
All well-equipped and eager

3. That was no mere banquet, but for them
Provisions for jihad, with satiation and drink

4. And the requisites of peace which they never witnessed
In your clubs - of intimate discourse and hearing

5. You came while the adversary persisted
In his resolve, threatening the kingdom, grasping

6. But your heroes of the cause left nothing of him,
No claim or plea remaining

7. And you walked in the company of the righteous, resolved
To complete what they began and legislated

8. The corrupt enemy schemed as is his habit,
But could not touch you, for you were frank with him

9. He despaired after you rejected his conditions,
Thinking your intent would not come to pass

10. As if today in what you accomplish
Against his hordes, you are informed and aware

11. You are not the first to suffer his politics,
And today is your day, no despair or hope

12. Shall I see him and my people walking together,
While in the heavens as on earth there is ample space?

13. The two parties each supportive of its master,
With none to follow or obey there

14. Each takes only what the others took,
And pays only what the others paid,

15. He is near, but has nothing for them,
Nor they anything for Him, inaccessible, aloof

16. People's interests amongst people are profound,
Individuals and groups cannot attain them

17. Who finds no refuge for himself in people's hearts
Has no refuge in their lands

18. When the adversary pledges, be at peace with it,
And if he reneges, feel no fear or anxiety

19. If he exceeds what satisfies the ally,
You have the means to check the angry one

20. You know better regarding him, affection unbroken,
You know better, affection interrupted

21. If his armies conquered the world and ruled it,
They would not shift the valley's frontier, or breach it

22. I am the record that counts and recalls
What the reformers did, and rewards them for their deeds

23. So take your share of my poetry, as they took theirs,
For you have benefited my lands, as they did too
