1. What pride, O pyramids,
After that ruin -

2. You stand relating the past,
And its terrors, in voiceless tongue,

3. And frighten every heart with the tale
Of a kingdom weakened amongst mankind.

4. You are like it, lofty and great,
An everlasting sign, enduring time.

5. Yet the ruin shows the death,
And displays wealth to the nations.

6. The people built it willingly and happily
Out of love, for reward and kindness.

7. We are more worthy than strangers
To have waters flow in it before now.

8. And happiness for Egypt that the Nile
Spends on it fairly and justly.

9. Its people will never suffer
From drought one day or deluge another.

10. Truly the era of Al-'Abbas is one of knowledge,
Abundance, vitality and safety.
