1. I have returned to call upon poetry, if only poetry could hear
And ask who caused me such misery and anguish

2. It was once close to my eyes and in my embrace
So I've come to hope that fantasy might bring it near

3. If oppressing the zeal was your wrongdoing
Then my silence toward you all is also wrong

4. Men of zeal, neither rage profits nor contentment
Did the days change or did wisdom disappear?

5. Matters are confused today and their consequences obscure
Until ignorance and knowledge seem the same

6. You battle today in your marches
Though your loved ones and enemies are under peace

7. When the deniers acknowledge your rights
They still doubt in their lavish, pretentious clan

8. Your hands built its pillar yet you differed
So it's become, by your hands, prone to destruction

9. You strove in God's way once, but no longer
For now the effort and resolve are for yourselves

10. You've wronged the gracious Nile, and if it repaid
The evildoer, its water would turn to poison

11. Was it right for a caller to shout
Then be silenced by surging, reckless force?

12. Was it wise for a government to arise
Only to be struck by injurious insults?

13. Can the bold heart be calmed by one who criticizes
When inside it burns like ignited coal?

14. If my father's body matched his soul
The protecting steel would be wearied by blood and flesh

15. More harmful than chaos is a complaisant system
And lighter than punishment for crime is the crime

16. Better than one who ignores the truth's knocking
Is the mute and deaf who aid it

17. The dispute between you is lighter
Than protection and bondage

18. One group takes refuge in belief
The other is shielded by ominous darkness

19. Can I be content, after your appealing to me
When the people, after God and nation, will judge?

20. Whoever's view aligns with the majority's view
Any talk against his argument is mere throwing of stones

21. And whoever's soul relies on commanding right
It is best to respond with forbearance and calm

22. When goals match between a group
Each lad assists his companion

23. And when selflessness is rewarded
It is enough for the lad to gain a title and name

24. Whoever makes his nearness to God his soul's concern
Will rise above plunder, even if plunder abounds

25. No harm if you make the matter a joint venture
Where this one gets a share and that one gets a share

26. Whoever of you does not quarrel, let him stand guard
Whoever of you is no leader, let him follow

27. No harm if peer faces peer
Either later praised or blamed

28. Either glorious victory or humiliating defeat
So the captain of the ship either rises or falls

29. If those noble conditions do not come
There is neither imposed power nor enforced compliance

30. No shame if the capable overcome you
But forsaking the faithful would be shameful

31. Your fierce enemy lamented you
And now hopes for reconciliation between you, the enemy

32. If gentleness and acceptance escaped you yesterday
Decency and manners have not escaped you today

33. I fear for you that hopes will vanish
Becoming conditions that you'll inevitably face

34. Can the proud people return humiliated
When its rising star has appeared?

35. Can Egypt hesitate after Yemen on high
And Syria followed its model?

36. May this be the last of your trials
So the doubter believes and the anxious finds peace

37. Return united before fate
And reclaim your land before the arrow strikes

38. Do not stray far from the side of a helper
For this one is your maternal uncle and that one your paternal

39. No celebration until God unites you all
And the sons, father, and mother reunite
