1. The poet is free to let loose
To fulfil the right of this festival

2. And I exaggerate in my praise of a king
For he has the best place in his state

3. Every splendid meaning has inspired me
In it are beautiful morals and traits

4. The people denied my belief that he
Is able, in his two hands, the easts

5. I do not harbour ill-intent and enough
That my poetry is the translator of my heart

6. Do I see him unable to attain what
His two predecessors did not attain

7. He is the support of the faith and the master who
Helped the sultan in this time

8. The deserts obeyed him and
His just rule appeared among them and was clear

9. He carried out the matter so there was nothing but
What the two states sought regarding the enemies

10. And the king took refuge from his usurper
And protected the homelands from the evils of discord

11. Penetrating in opinion, wise and prudent
Sometimes showing firmness, sometimes gentleness

12. And he has in every day a resolve
And dew for which the two nations praise him

13. O youth of the king, o his delight
Remain for the king hopeful and secure

14. For above him shines a throne
An abode coveted by the burning flames

15. And a sword he victoriously brandishes
A warner feared by the mountains

16. And a minaret he erects, lofty
As guidance for people, lasting, not ephemeral

17. Egypt is a bride he wed
And adorned her, your finest feast and pomp

18. She is dazzling in her jewels
Filling souls with intimacy and fascination

19. Hers are your past and future
Yours are her precious crown and scepter

20. And yours are the two Niles flowing with
Goodness in two streams made like gardens

21. And fortresses and armies you returned
For Egypt to be victorious in times of distress

22. And a banner you unfurl, security beneath it
Its ample shade violently fluttering

23. O son of Tawfiq, answer the call of one
Who has not seen but you a dependable master

24. And when you intend good upon the land, seize
This opportunity, for the time has come

25. And aid the East against its enemies
For its people have submitted since submitting

26. It does not accept an ordering king
Other than one who protects its protector from disgrace

27. And fill the valley with people and contentment
For delegations of gratitude from far and near

28. And tend to a compliant submissive people
Their love for you has been revealed to all

29. And of my sincerity in
Praising you, the miraculous, the masters of rhetoric

30. And it is impossible for you to see me
Oblivious of you a day, or the people say I betrayed

31. For you rule in a time obedient
To you, with the two Eids, its arteries pulsed
