1. You have the loyalty of every heart, O my heart,
Each heart ransoms you to the valley, and you are its redeemer

2. The mention of your auspicious birth brings to mind the mention of the noble redeemers
The hidden wishes and harbingers of felicity

3. You reign while seated upon the most eminent throne
A lofty seat of ascents and rests

4. Your feast day of fulfilled wishes is like
What future generations and settlements will enjoy

5. For the ages, you are to it as it has in you
Of responsibility, care, and affection

6. It found you pure, so it observed you, which is the least
Of plains and armies you possess

7. And it saw you blessed, successful upon the throne
A people saw you blessed of birth

8. They meet a happy life in your vicinity
Connected with the felicity of settlements

9. Today wanes and tomorrow you compose
Goodness between the requests of peers

10. So if you celebrate, it is a festival of glory
And praises, and virtues, and hands

11. And most deserving of respite is a heart brimming
With the fruits of children and grandchildren

12. The storms of wars preoccupied kingdoms
And preoccupied Egypt with the joy of feasts

13. They sought refuge in your safety from the affliction
That befell praisers and peaceful ones and covenants

14. O ninth of the noble game, their asylum
And protector, and nurturer of glories

15. You knew them in the past in their matter
And remained in the ever-increasing succession

16. And you connected your fresh amity with pilgrimage ties
For you from a gentle elderly man and foster son

17. The army is assembled to repel atrocities
And rebuild ruins and break shackles

18. And the palace sparkling with drink as if
It were Al-Rashid’s lavish palace in Baghdad

And the Nile overflowing with fresh, palatable water

20. And the land bringing out appetizing provision
And your fluttering banner unfurled over

21. The blossoms of the countries, settlements and expanses
Secured from the iniquities of four years

22. Whose sins darkened the people, severe tyrants
That clamor as Hell clamors with storms

23. Over precious wealth and children
Therein are severe pains while in

24. Egypt are scents of beauty and meadows
The wounded moan and you honor the captives with what

25. You have provided of your accustomed kindness
Kingdoms in the sky complain to the One of those

26. Kingdoms on earth proceeding without guidance
Their kings sought increase of existence

27. Through means of annihilation and depletion
Oh woe to them, humanity that grew with what

28. It carried of resentments and hatreds

29. It gathered, but gathered nothing but a wonder
Of hardened hearts and delicate bodies

30. Better than hands is an emancipated one if
Pieces of iron wore the claws of lions

31. And kinder than knowledge that spreads traps
To the safe from the blindness of slumber

32. And more shaded than cities watered by tears
And hot blood shed profusely and gently

33. Did the rivers diminish in agony? So from
Whose blood is this spilled, watering the hills?

Or did the land convulse in agony? So whose

35. Corpses are these erect upon the land?
The souls of the worlds became cheap though what

36. Surrounds them of liquid and solid became expensive
Fire consumes, and behind it iron

37. Prepared, continuous in supply
So spinning lightning bolts and quaking

38. Earthquakes on the move with ammunition
And one smeared in a quandary and stoked

39. In a trench and armed to the teeth for the executioner
And one brought close who did not rest from his offensive

40. Until he tossed about atop a steed
Each sacrifices his country with a victim

41. Magnified beyond admitting and testifying
And he stands below its citadels and fortresses

42. As an unseen and unfelt guard
Are they youths or blooming plants?

43. Are they implements of war or implements of harvest?
For the crown or for the people or for both

44. Is the changing sin and evil habits of the assailant?
Truly the unrestrained one if he oppresses intentionally

45. Is more deserving of shackles and chains
And the traps of the hunter, if he does not beware

46. In setting them, decree upon the hunter
How miserable a life whose spring

47. Is the mutual stinging of roses and visitors
The expanses contain the earth while it is faithful

48. And constrict around one stubborn and obstinate
The nights of the prophets have gone, so what do you see

49. Of the likes of the people of ‘Aad returning like Thamud
Who can give me an encompassing system or law

50. That reins in the masses and controls individuals
And directs each crowned one in his kingdom

51. By the advice of overseers and critics
How much the world needs, as it grew sick,

52. The expertise of the doctor and mercy of the loving caretaker

53. And most deserving of it is one whose nature
Is to help the weak and chastity of the ascetics

54. And sees the most deserving of independence today
Is one who yesterday was most deserving of subjugation

55. Who else’s throne is an admonishing lesson
And comfort for your lofty throne, O contented one

56. And I divided my heart between sympathy for
Nations and loyalty to this club

57. I saw your face radiant, delighted
So I saw the fortune of my people and homelands

58. What is there for the warner, and what is for Egypt while you
Watch over it for the ages, lying in wait?

59. Surely trustworthiness, safekeeping and consent
Are foremost for a compliant, obedient people

60. What more can they want while you are benevolent and just
Except your continued governance in the valley

61. And an outstanding life reserved for the age of peace,
How excellent what you have prepared of equipment and supplies

62. The whisper of mercy with hopes behind it
Good tidings and homesickness for peace calling
