1. His authority spread, so it was difficult for them
To see him as a rival tyrant

2. And he refused to be removed from the kingdom
So they declared rebellion against the government

3. A state filled with soldiers and ruling lands
Was alarmed by him

4. While he deemed his people and enemies
Ambitious - where did he go and settle?

5. How can the martyr gain strength after
Being surrounded by currents from all sides?

6. He conversed with a brother who stumbled in the
Night, men who don't feel safe in daylight

7. He gained nothing but nearly destroyed
The tyrants and uncovered the secrets

8. And challenged the enemy in his intentions
So the enemy avenged him

9. Whenever he destroyed a pillar of Egypt,
Egypt rebuilt a stronger wall

10. O you who gloat over today's ransom
Have you mastered fate?

11. I remain fearful for you even as
You flatter the treacherous deceiver

12. And I see your day coming soon with Him
Who alternates wrath and contentment

13. He from whose harm your brother suffered
You will see worse bitterness from Him

14. And He who yesterday hid His hands
Among you comes openly today

15. Why should the Arbitrator, whose decree
Is fulfilled, whose command obeyed, hide?

16. You all advised him, yet neither absence
Nor presence protects him from fear

17. When He wants He counts you loyal
And when He wants He counts you free

18. Your situation in exile is less to me
Than the agony of the wounded and shame of captives

19. Expel him from the homelands if his
Stay there harms the homelands

20. And take him as your sacrifice
To your subduer, if you reach the Almighty

21. So perhaps after today's sacrifice
You won't need to make excuses for him

22. What will satisfy Him about you
And protect you from His iron and fire?

23. No salvation but in your strong unity
And with great souls
