1. My homeland, you are the eternal beloved
You have the most noble place in my heart

2. And my passion for you is an innate trait
I'm glad that I have this trait

3. For you I constantly strive diligently
With steadfast and powerful hope

4. I do not care on my path, ever
Whether the night is long or my vigil continues

5. And if departure from you is destined for me
I would be forced to it unwillingly

6. And if distance from you lengthens and continues
It only increases my yearning for you

7. In you is what I recite of poetry
The listener thinks it's about a sweetheart

8. Expressing my burning love
In a heart that does not complain of burning

9. And for your beauty I am always cautious
Of an envious enemy with evil intent

10. Seeking to do harm and cause havoc
While your army of mighty prowess protects you

11. My homeland, I would ransom you with my soul if
Time ever brought you unbearable harm

12. And I see joy in warding off harm from you
With flames and flying arrows

13. For you I have fulfilled the rights of passion
Yielding to whatever the intoxication of youth decreed

14. With boundless desires and vigorous strength
Taking from all that is delightful and pleasant

15. With companions like lamps in the darkness
Or the pearls of a crown or the flowers of meadows

16. Noble youth whose friendship is hoped for
They know no anger in their affection

17. How often we bent the branches of a vine
Over which the birds sang melodiously

18. And toyed with sands that shone
Like dazzling gold

19. And we tossed flowers that healed
With their fragrance the heart of a passionate lover

20. And we passed between us a cup of pure wine
Its color like bygone days

21. What bounties of yours can I recount
They are too vast to enumerate

22. If I spent my life thanking you
Could I fulfill what I owe you?

23. Endure, O Nile, most generous of rivers
With souls you have shown such loyalty

24. Keep flowing, you who resemble al-Kawthar
Cradle of the valley's joy and comfort

25. Endure, O desert, battlefield of armies
Between your two united lands

26. Displaying might of whites and blacks
That guarantees victory and well-being for us

27. O banner of glory, I am enamored of
Your shining light, O crescent moon

28. My being throbs just like you
Whenever the south or north wind blows

29. Egypt, O home of my ancestors, may you remain
In the safekeeping of the Noble Abbasid

30. The just prince allied
With the rightly-guided Imam Abdul Hamid

31. The auspicious clouds have been generous to you
Watering your fertile and handsome valley

32. The morning breeze wanders through you
And the ways of bliss sleep in you
