Pouring praise and murmuring upon you

2. Sana'a rushed to you as if
A beautiful lover flirting with her beloved

3. She swooned for you as if bewitched
Pleasured in spirit, inflamed in blood

4. And saw the Crown Prince, so she adorned herself with him
As if he were a spark pouring flame

5. And her happy hills danced as many times
As stars dance upon the celestial spheres

6. She met with the Crown Prince as many times
As the thirsty meet the murmuring stream

7. And her outskirts poured forth, maddened with joy,
Until even silence almost spoke

8. Her plateaus and plains pulled you in ardently
As the pauper covets the coin

9. She looked upon the dawn moonlight of his life
And saw in it the beloved hope embodied

10. A moon dawning upon hearts, its light
Inspiring the homelands to progress

11. As if it were a dawn pouring rays
Generously, and a paradise pouring smiles

12. As if it were the divine glow of youth
And pulpits erasing the blindness of ignorance!

13. As if it were the spring singing its hymn
Green, inscribed by the dawn and humming

14. And history's mouth told of his beauty's magic
Winged thought and decisive revelation

15. As if it were a heart melting with sighs
For the wretched and overflowing with mercy

16. Whenever he saw one suffering, you would see him
Pained by their pain, hurt by their hurt

17. Until you see him as balm
For every eye's tears and every wound's salve

18. The most deserving of glory are those who shared
The pain of the suffering and destitute

19. And the lowest of people are those who saw
Oppression's wantonness but shrank from it in fear

20. And when injustice grew tall, he bowed his head
Fearfully, deeming it enough to suffer injustice

21. Mohammed, who are you? You are justice
And noble spirit worthy of ardent souls

22. And feeling that inspires, and humanity
A safeguard garbed in inviolable loftiness

23. The horizons of ideals and knowledge birthed you,
A flame as the heavens birth stars

24. My poetry and springtime have sung your praises
Spring gifted you its flowers and sweet basil

25. The springtime welcomed your birth with its bounty
And my verses hailed you in inspired song
