1. Knowledge adorns the glorious robes,
And knowledge revives the greatest ruins.

2. How many sins have become, through it, heads,
And many a sinner, oceans swarming.

3. No glory of lineage except through piety-
Where do deluded souls find glory?

4. One who seeks might without piety
Will find his own soul recoiling in shame.

5. Turn away from this world and you will be lordly;
Rather, a king in it and in the next.
