1. My tongue I shed
When companions turned against me
١. طَيلَسانٌ خَلَعتُهُ
إِذ تَجافَوهُ في الشِرا
2. How it sang to them when
The people of the land inclined towards me
٢. كَم تَغَنّى عَلَيهِ حي
نَ تَهَوّى بَنو الوَرى
3. The same has befallen me, as you know
So my body is as you see
٣. حَلَّ بي مِثلَما عَلِم
تَ فَجِسمي كَما تَرى
