1. Ibn Harb clothed me in a coat of mail as though I were
A love-sick youth crazed with passion, raving mad.
١. كَساني اِبنُ حَربٍ طَيلَساناً كَأَنَّهُ
فَتىً عاشِقٌ بالٍ مِنَ الوَجدِ كَالشَنِّ
2. I sang for Ibrahim when he arrayed me,
But though I am departed from the world, the world is not departed from me.
٢. يُغَنّي لِإِبراهيمَ حينَ لَبِستُهُ
ذَهَبتُ مِنَ الدُنيا وَما ذَهَبَت مِنّي
