1. I bear witness against you that you are Sabians
And I know you well, O police of blasphemy

2. I swear your throne is not one of tranquility
Even if it is wrapped in fancy garments

3. The Ark is dressed in sedition, though doves flock around it
And it is adorned, but with vain embellishments

4. I am a man who loves Muhammad’s family
And I prefer the Quran's living revelations

5. I am grateful that Shakir circumambulated it
And wiped himself with its poles, not doubling his efforts

6. Our necks bowed to Ibn Al-Zubair
Without any deceit or frivolous motives

7. I followed Abdullah when Quraish moved against him
Mobbing him while wearing their finest clothes

8. I reckon its consequences will be for Muhammad’s family
So the oppressed will be victorious and the fearful, safe

9. My Lord will unite a nation torn asunder
By wars between them and dreadful calamities
