1. He told me of a gathering where you were an adornment
With a trustworthy messenger and women as witnesses
١. وَحَدَّثَني عَن مَجلِسٍ كُنتِ زَينَهُ
رَسولٌ أَمينٌ وَالنِساءُ شُهودُ
2. So I said to him, “Speak no more of what has passed
For it's your mention in that tale I seek”
٢. فَقُلتُ لَهُ كُرَّ الحَديثَ الَّذي مَضى
وَذِكرَكِ مَن ذاكَ الحَديثِ أُريدُ
