1. O dwellings of my loved ones, is there one who will answer
About you, and soothe the anguish of my distant pilgrimage?

Or empty after they left, after settlement,

4. We have enjoyed ourselves in you for a time and an hour,
And greeted the dawns with more dawns,

5. And indulged at dawn and play,
And the tunes of flutes and strings,

6. Amidst roses, narcissi, chamomile,
Basil, lilies, and flowers,

7. Pomegranate and all kinds of delicate blossoms,
The tender basil and the bright anemone.

8. So the days cast us in the best condition while heedless and deceived,
And we parted after a long gathering,

9. And grew distant after the proximity of the dwellings.
