1. O companion, verily a man's beauty is naught but
His perfection, and the remnants of charm his endowments yet bear.
١. يا صاح إِنَّ جَمال المَرء لَيسَ سِوى
كَماله وَبَقايا الحُسن مِن تُحفِه
2. He who sows his life in the soil of ignorance shall reap
Naught but grief and sorrows from his remorse.
٢. مَن يَزرَع العُمر في أَرض الجَهالة لا
يَجني سِوى الهَمّ وَالأَحزان مِن أَسفِه
