For the eyes of masters of composure and those fascinated,

2. You have created a poetic blossom, your composer,
Who has come with wonders of eloquence,

3. Alexander the Second directed the intent of determination,
Only towards an honorable aim worthy of seeking,

4. His share shined through the finesse of his calligraphy,
Oh goodness! How excellent his lines were written!

5. This is a book refined in print and gentle in manner,
Thus is it worthy to adorn it in gold,

6. It lowered the ranks of poets into categories,
Clarifying their worth and lineage,

7. So if their lifetime has passed, he has revived them
Through praiseworthy mention - the noblest acquisition.

8. Oh what they have gained in virtues elevated their
Honor, befitting of their rank and title!

9. And paradise has lodged them in a garden
That has born the finest fruit of merits and literature.

10. For they are the sovereigns of poetry and it is through them,
Elevated in pride for poetry is the book of the Arabs.
