1. With money the ignorant are adorned from folly
As fat adorns the quadrupeds
١. بِالمال يَزدان أَهل الجَهل عَن حمق
كَما يزين ذَوات الأَربَع السمنُ
2. So wealth in this life, and they are the fat ones
And every greenery whose bloom grows the fat
٢. فَالمال كَالغَيث في الدُنيا وَهُم دِمَنٌ
وَكُلُّ خَضراء زهو تنبت الدمنُ
