1. My sweet, pure love
Who cheapens the finest musk.

2. She wrote a line of perfection
With features of exquisite beauty.

3. For what is beauty but that
Which perfects the virtues of men?

4. Like the way of Moses,
With it, glories are balanced.

5. And indeed, he who adorns himself
With its string of pearls,

6. Muhammad, whose sublime station
Is lofty, splendid in speech,

7. Her sweetness has been perfumed for me
In what is forbidden and what is lawful.

8. Well-mannered is what we saw
Of her gentleness as an example.

9. A nature like the scent of flowers
Spreading, or clear running water,

10. Of tenderness and clarity,
And goodly, virtuous traits.

11. And whose station is like Ali’s,
For whom praises continue endlessly.

12. And when she appeared to us
In the most splendid of forms,

13. And adorned herself with chaste love,
A cloak of allure,

14. The full moon said to me, “Record
The date of the perfected full moon.”
