1. The breeze of al-Safa blew, and you are safe
From misfortunes, for time has been reconciled.

2. The cups went around, and the stars shone,
Unveiled stars that cannot be hidden.

3. Pure as perfume, through which
Our thoughts become clear, and the tongue is unleashed.

4. Shining, they sang along with the drinking companions
The wedding songs of the virgin, surrounded by grace.

5. Unconstrained greetings of joy—
They have no cares except happiness.

6. Their delight watered them in the meadows of intimacy,
Gazing at its roses and bright flowers.

7. Its birds sang merrily, so we said:
Are our minds bewitched, or is it infatuation?

8. A singing slave girl sang to us melodiously
And the eloquence of magic became clear.

9. With tunes she showed me intoxicated people,
So I said, “Here is delight and affection.”

10. Calling out to the arts of musical rhythm,
She poured herself into them completely, fascinated.

11. When souls become inflamed with passion for her,
Palms gesture to her, enraptured.

12. She left us no sound mind—
Her garments, which are satin.

13. O Lord, the assembly in the garden of intimacy
Is Paradise, and the world is a garden.

14. The place He elevated with nobility and honor
Is a God whom no place can encompass.

15. It boasts of the beauty of a people
Whose high ranks are eternally balanced.

16. Nobles whom no guest can equal
In the generosity of their natures or humiliate.

17. Their souls are protected from any fault,
And in the ways of nobility are not to be faulted.

18. Choice souls, pure as musk,
Whose elixir has no smoke.

19. Like swift horses they have mounted them
And hold their reins to obey them.

20. So they have won every race of virtues
While the horses of the helpless went astray.

21. O Hamadah, will I ever weary
Of praising you, even if time grows angry?

22. I will spread your praise east and west,
And God, Most Generous, is my helper.

23. It is the lasting legacy that remains
For you and every person of prestigious time.

24. It suffices that my brother is of good repute—
Your saying has contained the manners of So-and-so.

25. People have not known glory
Until the protectors of the heights defeated the tyrants.

26. You have built, O descendants of the exalted, a glory
For which generosity is the interpreter.

27. I do not consider one whom nobility has touched
Noble unless it has reached his heart and tongue.

28. Pride in ambitious building is no nobility
If the builder cannot guarantee it.

29. When steeds race to compete,
Donkeys lag behind their track.

30. You have spent your wealth, so it has risen nobly
With you, while everything squandered is disgraced.

31. The Guide on High has granted you His favor
Intertwined with tenderness that will not abandon you.

32. Congratulations—drink it fresh,
As convoys of decency revolve around you.

33. Cups of joy, brimming over,
Balancing minds without inclining.

34. Flirtatious, culling the pearls of meaning,
Tongues devoted to you select for you.

35. With the good news of your children's weddings,
Noble scions have come to congratulate you as the time approaches.

36. Seven stars in the sky of glory
Have appeared radiantly as the stars align.

37. Children of tender beauty who were nurtured
At the breast of nobility and suckled its milk.

38. Moons in their mansions though not destined
Their stations match the rising of moons.

39. Humility has brought them every glory.
They were ennobled by humility when they were disdained.

40. So for us was their praise when we gathered
And for them was our joy when they were present.

41. Our celebrations and holidays shine
With their New Year's and festivals.

42. With their children's weddings they invited us
To attain success, inviting with open hands.

43. Delight filled our hearts tumultuously—
Joys overflowed effervescently.

44. As if by inspiration a voice called out
And spirit and mortal responded.

45. They raced to congratulate,
As if a wager were between them.

46. All succeeded in attaining wishes,
And from fate we had security.

47. Every caller announced the good news
To people, who showed gratitude for his call.

48. The voice of celebration called out the date,
Radiant with the wedding stars of glory.
