1. Glorified is He Who originated the curtains of modesty,
And made roses blossom in the gardens of cheeks.
١. سُبحان مَن أَنشأ بان القُدود
وَأطلع الورد بِرَوض الخُدود
2. Glorified is He Who gave life with the water of life,
To His gardens which have become adorned with flowers.
٢. سُبحان مَن أَحيا بِماء الحَيا
جنّاتها اللاتي زَهَت بِالوُرود
3. Glorified is He Who created over water, fire
That touches the heart before the skin.
٣. سُبحان مَن أَوجد ناراً عَلى
ماء تَمسّ القَلب قَبل الجُلود
4. Glorified is He Who originated branches
That grew over sand dunes through rising.
٤. سُبحان مَن أَنشأ أَغصانها
مِن فَوق كُثبان نمت بِالصعود
5. Glorified is He Who obliged its branches
To bend submissively to what attracts them to sit.
٥. سُبحان مَن ألزم أَعطافها
طَوعاً لما يجذبُها لِلقعود
6. Glorified is He Who made the dawn break,
And made the shooting stars knots of pearls.
٦. سُبحان مَن أَطلَع فَجر الطَا
وَصَيَّر الشُهب الدَراري عُقود
7. Glorified is He Who inspired its branches
To untie the bonds of patience with the knot of separation.
٧. سُبحان مَن أَلهم أَعطافها
حلَّ عُرى الصَبر بِعقد البُنود
8. Glorified is He Who knitted the nets of passion,
And taught the gazelles how to hunt the lions.
٨. سُبحان من حاك شباكَ الهَوى
وَعلّم الغزلان صَيد الأُسود
9. Glorified is He Who tempted the eyes of the beauties
To kill those who ward off limits from them.
٩. سُبحان مَن أَغرى عُيون المَها
بِقَتل مَن يَدرأ عَنها الحُدود
10. Glorified is He Who commanded them with prohibition,
Yet they remain piercing with witnesses.
١٠. سُبحان من حكّمها بِالنهى
فَلَم تَزَل طاعنة بِالشُهود
11. Glorified is He Who kept our eyelids sleepless
In love for those resting glances.
١١. سُبحان مَن أَسهر أَجفاننا
في حُبّ هاتيك اللحاظ الرُقود
12. Glorified is He Who made the kingdom of beauties
The most amazing kingdom on earth and the strongest army.
١٢. سُبحان مَن صيّر ملك البها
أَبهى الوَرى ملكاً وَأَقوى جُنود
13. Glorified is He Who brought out in our land
Full moons during nights of good fortune.
١٣. سُبحان مَن أَطلَع في أَرضنا
بُدور تمٍّ في لَيالي سُعود
14. Glorified is He Who created us a group
Whose manners defeat the noses of the envious.
١٤. سُبحان مَن أَوجدنا عصبة
آدابها ترغم أنفَ الحَسود
15. We are from the exalted people who
Have always been loyal in keeping promises.
١٥. من كُلّ مَن أُرضع ثَدي النُهى
وَضمّه الفَضل بحجرِ المُهود
16. Our faces radiant while our enviers
Their faces have become veils of darkness.
١٦. نَحنُ مِن القَوم الأُلى طالَما
عَلى الوَفا قاموا بحفظ العُهودِ
17. Our manners flowed with tenderness
While the eyes of the hostile are rigid with harshness.
١٧. وَجوهنا غرٌّ وَحُسّادنا
وُجوههم أضحت غرابيب سود
18. No sooner did the nights become delighted with us
Than the hearts of the ungrateful swelled with hatred.
١٨. سالَت مِن الرقّة آدابنا
وَأَعيُن الضدّ عراها الجُمود
19. We stood up as the people of piety stood up
Until our eyelids dried from wakefulness.
١٩. وَما اِنبَرَت تَزهو اللَيالي بِنا
حَتّى اِنبرى بِالغَيظ قَلب الجُحود
20. We enliven the nights to deaden wickedness
And exert effort to fulfill promises.
٢٠. قُمنا كَما قامَت رِجال التُقى
حَتّى جفّت مِنّا الجُفون الهجود
21. Our emblem is companionship of the handsome gazelles
And our business is escorting the deer.
٢١. نحيي اللَيالي لِنُميت العَنا
وَنبذل السَعي لِنوفي الوعود
22. We stood by the rules of passion obediently
So none of us transgressed the limits.
٢٢. شِعارنا صُحبة غيد الظبا
وَشَأن شانينا اِصطِحاب القُرود
23. This, while none of us but a companion
Who keeps secrets, is sweet and loving.
٢٣. قُمنا بِأَحكام الهَوى طاعة
فَلَيسَ فينا مَن تَعدّى الحُدود
24. The Lord of the heavens originated love amongst us
So praise be to Allah, the Benevolent, Loving.
٢٤. هَذا وَما مِنّا سِوى صاحب
يَحتفظ السرّ وَخلّ وَدود
٢٥. أَوجد فينا الودّ ربّ السَما
فَالحمد لِلّه الكَريم الوَدود
