3. His radiant face shone on us last night like a goblet,
Filled with limpid wine or a candle lit with desire.

With darkness, it would shine like a star in the goblet at dawn.

5. If not for the net of pearls holding it back,
Our goblets would have flown away in joy.

6. The moon circulates them among the chaste lords,

8. A dimpled smile reveals a beloved with a moustache,
If lightning flashed from it, the hiding places would not see it.

9. Amazed, a tall stature sways,
If the bent branches competed, they would lose.

10. A swaying form of a honey-seller wards him off,
Lest he greedily snatches his sweet honey.

11. With sleepy eyes, many were killed, and much blood spilt,
By the one whose eyelids are swords.

13. If a glance wounds pride,
Then many glances have willfully wounded.

The bird of anxiety has been slaughtered in my eyelids.

19. Or the sale of your affection to a lover,
Surely he would be content with what pleases you.

20. Or torture a brother of longing,
Counting his love's afflictions as gifts to you.

21. I do not fear from you except rejection,
Abandoning the pact of love and its reins discarded.

22. O my friend, forgive and forget the blame,
Leave the rebuke of time, and be of open heart.

Have been reformed by the exalted state.

24. Name the most noble of creatures,
Whose virtues the Lord of the Throne has extolled.

25. Muhammad was rightly named the reformer,
Two prophets named, in both names a sweet scent blows.

26. The jewel of honor always adorns him,
Until he wore the perfection and mantle of virtue.

27. Who can count his traits? When mentioned,
The horizons say to me, dawn and wake!

28. By its light, the darkness of vile ignorance vanished,
And many doors of injustice and gloom were barred.

29. Many doors of rights were opened for the deserving,
With justice he rewards the transgressors with the sword of deterrence.

30. Until when they desist from their waywardness, he pardons.
He mounts no reckless opinions,

31. But one mindful of consequences, a burning match.
His eyes tend the flock, while the lowly slumber in secure shade,

32. If the corrupt wound, he quickly heals the wound.
Mightier in power than any counselor if gesturing,

33. To the revolving celestial sphere, it would not bend.
Firm in his resolve, he consults none but,

34. Firmness, when the Most High consults him, advising well.
When the polished blade is drawn from him, it becomes,

35. As if furnished with bits or newly forged.
He serves the brave the cups of annihilation in succession,

ูƒูŽุฃูŽู†ู‘ู‡ ู…ูุฌู‘ ุจูุงู„ูุฑุตุงุฏ ุฃูŽูˆ ู†ุถุญุง

36. Until the noble studs are fully intoxicated.
By the hands of a hero the reins of glory,

ูฃูฆ. ูŠูŽุณู‚ูŠ ุงู„ูƒู…ุงุฉ ูƒูุคูˆุณ ุงู„ุญุชู ู…ุชุฑุนุฉ
ุญูŽุชู‘ู‰ ุฅูุฐุง ุฃูŽุณูƒูŽุฑ ุงู„ู‚ุฑู† ุงู„ุนูŽุชูŠุฏ ุตุญุง

37. While the eyes of the sublime cast longing glances toward him.
Where the hems danced for him, imagine him

ูฃูง. ู„ูู„ู‘ู‡ ุณูู…ุฑ ุงู„ุนูŽูˆุงู„ูŠ ููŠ ูŠูŽุฏูŽูŠ ุจูŽุทู„
ุฅูู†ุณุงู† ุนูŽูŠู† ุงู„ู…ูŽุนุงู„ูŠ ู†ูŽุญูˆูŽู‡ู ูƒูŽุฏุญุง

38. In the mantle of ecstasy if it swings.
Never did he unfurl a battle flag,

ูฃูจ. ุชูŽุฎุงู„ู‡ ุญูŽูŠุซ ุฃูŽุนุทุงู ุงู„ู‚ูŽู†ุง ุฑูŽู‚ุตุช
ู„ูŽู‡ู ุฎู„ุงุนุฉ ุฐูŠ ูˆูŽุฌุฏู ุฅูุฐุง ุดูŽุทุญุง

39. Except that the Most High inscribed for him good fortune.
Rather than be content with any detested pact,

ูฃูฉ. ู…ุง ุฎูŽุทู‘ูŽ ุจูุงู„ุฎูŽุทู‘ู ูŠูŽูˆู…ุงู‹ ุทุฑุณ ู…ูŽุนุฑูƒุฉู
ุฅูู„ู‘ุง ูˆูŽุนูŽู† ุญูŽุธู‘ูู‡ู ุณูŽุทุฑ ุงู„ุนูู„ู‰ ุดูŽุฑุญุง

40. On the day of hatred, he tore it open.
With a swimmer, if you saw him plunging

ูคู . ูƒู„ู‘ุง ูˆูŽู„ุง ุฑุงุถูŽ ู…ุชู†ุงู‹ ู…ูู† ู…ุณูˆู‘ูŽู…ุฉ
ูŠูŽูˆู… ุงู„ูƒูŽุฑูŠู‡ุฉ ุฅูู„ู‘ุง ุตูŽุฏุฑูŽู‡ุง ุดุฑุญุง

41. Into tumultuous seas, you would hear lightning crack.
With determination he repels formidable events,

ูคูก. ุจูุณุงุจุญู ู„ูŽูˆ ุชูŽุฑุงู‡ ุญูŠู†ูŽ ุฎุงุถูŽ ุจูู‡ู
ุจูŽุญุฑ ุงู„ุนูŽุฌุงุฌ ู„ูŽุดู…ุช ุงู„ุจูŽุฑู‚ ู‚ูŽุฏ ุณุจุญุง

42. When the grinding stones turn in the hands of afflictions.
Who will inform the rain that the valley is its attainment,

ูคูข. ูˆูŽู‡ู…ู‘ุฉ ูŠูŽุฏููŽุน ุงู„ุฎุทุจ ุงู„ุฌูŽุณูŠู… ุจูู‡ุง
ุบูŽุฏุงุฉ ุฏุงุฑูŽุช ุจุฃูŽูŠุฏูŠ ุงู„ู…ูุฒุนูุฌุงุช ุฑุญู‰

43. Or warn the lion if events roar around him?
His hands and might are hoped for and feared,

ูคูฃ. ู…ูŽู† ูŠูุฎุจุฑ ุงู„ุบูŽูŠุซ ุฃูŽู†ู‘ ุงู„ูŠู…ู‘ ู†ุงุฆู„ู‡
ุฃูˆ ูŠูู†ุฐุฑ ุงู„ู„ูŽูŠุซ ู…ูู† ุฎูŽุทุจ ุจูู‡ู ููŽุฏุญุง

44. But the proof of success is evidently in his favor.
Like the sea, many were lost in it,

ูคูค. ุชูุฑุฌู‰ ูˆูŽุชูุฎุดู‰ ุฃูŽูŠุงุฏูŠู‡ู ูˆูŽุณูŽุทูˆุชู‡
ู„ูŽูƒู† ู„ูŽุฏูŠู‡ู ุฏูŽู„ูŠู„ ุงู„ููŽูˆุฒ ู‚ูŽุฏ ุฑุฌุญุง

45. While others luckily gained pearls.
The tears of the bereft are a lesson, yet many,

ูคูฅ. ูƒูŽุงู„ุจูŽุญุฑ ูƒูŽู… ู…ูู† ุฃูู†ุงุณ ููŠู‡ู ู‚ูŽุฏ ุฎูŽุณุฑุช
ูˆูŽูƒูŽู… ููŽุชู‰ู‹ ุจูุงูู„ุชู‚ุงุท ุงู„ุฏูุฑู‘ ู‚ูŽุฏ ุฑูŽุจูุญุง

46. Were exposed by the dew in their palms.
No wonder if his enemies deny his merits,

47. The bat has long denied the sun at dawn.
But his merits witnessed with additional virtue,

48. That his brilliant dawn had appeared for the people.
By his reign, times have become radiant,

49. While the face of time had long been barren.
He watered the lips of Beirut with delight,
